A Unique Perspective

This morning I woke up early with a bit of a sore throat. I got up and made some hot water and honey, which usually helps. I left my glasses in the room, and I decided to go without them, not wanting to disturb my wife. As I sat on the couch sipping my magical tonic, I enjoyed the peace of the early morning and the warm glow of the Christmas tree. Looking at the Christmas tree without my glasses gave everything an out-of-focus feel that looked even more magical than reality. It occurred to me that very few people in the world have my exact vision impairment, which is almost like a fingerprint. It means that I am the only one that sees the world exactly like I do.

Just like vision, we have all been born into this world in different circumstances and have had unique life experiences. We all see the world through the lenses of our own lives, and it is essential to recognize those differences. Just because we all have different life experiences doesn’t change cold hard facts. It just means that we must give each other grace as we all try to work together to make it through this life.

Listening to each other is especially important, and if you’re struggling in that department, we’d love to help! Using your insurance, you can get better hearing aids than Costco for less. Check out our website before your next hearing aid purchase and save yourself a lot!
