You Need A Good Belay!

This summer, I took my nephew rappelling down a waterfall. We first had to climb the canyon walls, which got steep in places and pushed him past his comfort zone. He was very nervous but also very brave! When we arrived at the waterfall, we strapped in, and Jet was the first one off the edge. As icy cold water started hitting his legs, he felt a sudden rush of terror, thinking he might die. He made it down just fine and later laughed and talked about how much he loved the experience. As we face challenges in our lives (like hearing loss), we can have similar feelings of anxiety, nervousness, and fear. In rappelling, you have a person belaying you. Your belay is your safety, your backup, your lifeline. If you freak out and let go of the rope, your belay will pull the rope and stop you from falling. If you've never suffered from hearing loss, you don't understand how scary, isolating, frustrating, and lonely it can feel. We are not in business to sell hearing aids. We're here to be advocates for anyone with hearing loss. We will fight to find the best technology so you can achieve your best possible hearing. We partner with your insurance companies to minimize your expenses. We expose those trying to take advantage of you by providing upfront prices on our website. We will never let you fall, and we'll get you ready for all the other adventures life offers.
